Certificate of Completion/Continuing Education Credits
Teachers who fulfill all workshop requirements will receive a certificate of completion and a letter that describes the workshop’s curriculum and requirements, including the assigned readings, number of contact hours, and the visual storytelling projects. Participants will be encouraged to use these materials to obtain continuing education credits through their school districts. The Spencer Museum of Art will work with teachers to provide any additional information required to ensure that they receive credit for their participation.
Please note that Summer Scholars must attend and fully participate in all workshop events from Sunday afternoon through Saturday afternoon to be eligible for the certificate of completion.
In addition, participants who are interested in registering for gradate credit through KU's History Department or Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Department can enroll in a Directed Readings (Independent Study) with Dr. Kim Warren, Associate Professor of History and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at KU and a workshop keynote lecturer in this Landmarks workshop. Students will do additional work relating to African American and Native American education after the workshop has been completed in order to earn 3 credit hours. Two different course options are available: HIST 800 (83590) or WGSS 797 (87933). Please contact Dr. Warren (email@example.com) before June if you plan to enroll.
